The HR Operator™

The people function is an operating system. I wrote the manual.

Most companies treat HR as a place where problems go to be filed. That framing wastes it. The people function decides who joins, who stays, who leads, and whether the whole thing holds under pressure. That is not support. That is operations. The HR Operator is a closed, thirty-volume core that hands you the system: the models, the language, and the moves to run people work with the same rigor a company gives finance or product.

One idea runs through all thirty volumes. Operator Debt™. Every people decision you defer, the conversation you avoid, the role you leave open, the system you never build, is a liability that compounds. The series teaches you to see it, price it, and pay it down.

The whole core

One framework from each volume, free

Every volume ships with a free operator sample: a designed three-page excerpt that gives away one framework you can run this week. No email wall. Here are the ones released so far.

More samples are added as the series rolls out. Each is a designed three-page PDF, free to keep.

Proof is a running system, not a certificate.

There is no exam, no renewal, and no letters to put after your name. The People Systems Pathway™ runs five levels, from Stabilizer to Architect, but a level is never a rank a person holds. It is a current state of running systems. The only proof that counts is the Operator Portfolio™: the systems you built, running, with the results to show for it.

Why I built this

I spent twenty years in banking, operations, and leadership before I fell in love with the people side of the work. I came to believe HR is not a department. It is the operating system a company runs on, whether anyone admits it or not. Design it on purpose and people do their best work. Ignore it and the best people quietly leave. The HR Operator is that belief, turned into a system you can run. You can read where the rest of my work is going in Projects and Ideas.
