How this site is made.

This site is built to last. It is a set of static pages, so it stays fast and cheap to keep alive for a very long time. The writing is stored as plain text. If every tool here disappeared tomorrow, the words would still open.

Fraunces for display, Newsreader for reading, and Inter for the interface. All self-hosted, so nothing loads from a third party.

Astro, hand-written CSS, and as little JavaScript as the work allows.

Pagefind, which indexes the site itself. No server, no tracking of what you look for.

Privacy

No cookies, no ad tech, no analytics unless it is cookie-free and clearly disclosed.
